Hi
As I have already mentioned, I am trying to keep as much of the original manufacturer's parts as is possible in the restoration.
The front fork rockers on my WLhave a forging number that says SC-3T.
On page 107 of the latest edition of Bruce Palmer's book 'How to Restore Your Harley - Davidson', Bruce states that the front fork rockers on the 45's have a forging number that varies from SC-3 to SC-3A,or SC-4 to SC-4A, depending on the age of the rockers and on which side the rocker sits.
Bruce says that the SC-3 and SC-4 forging numbers were used from 1931 to 1948, after which the A was added to the forging number. And that the rocker with the forging number SC-3 sits on the left hand side of the front fork and the rocker with the forging number SC-4 sits on the right hand side of the fork.
What this means is that my H-D WL still has the original factory fitted front fork rockers installed on the bike!
