This page records my progress with the restoration of my 1941 Harley-Davidson WL - this H-D was used by the Union Defence Force of South Africa in World War 2. The SAUDF acquired around 4,500 motorcycles from the US War Department mid-1940 and they were used in the East Africa Campaign, the Madagascar Campaign and the North Africa Campaign.

Snag List - Headlight
Hi
Today I want to get the headlight to work.
I have found a wrongly connected wire in the toggle switch, which I have just swapped around.
But the light is not working. So, I'll investigate further.
Congratulations on the final result of your motorcycle. I have been posting all the post that you have uploaded and I have checked the dedication and care that you have put so that the bike stays as faithful to the original possible. I have a 1937 w purchase that totally disassembled and to be restored and your post has helped me, since they are very well documented. Last week after a year and a half I finally started the bike and I'm already in the final stretch, I only have to finish the electrical installation and finish adjusting it. My motorcycle just like yours also participated in a war (the Spanish Civil War) Greetings from Spain and forgive my English (I use google translator). juan-brustenga@hotmail.es
